New mail order fish. Arrived in this condition 7 days ago. Hard to believe still alive. Did not think had a chance. Maybe waiting until guarantee expires. Any thoughts? Can’t recall a fish looking this bad perking along.

If it’s been like this ever since arrival, it is unlikely to recover. Usually though, shipping damage is a acute issue and fish either recover or die in the first day or two after arrival.

I would contact the shipper ASAP, in case it manages to survive beyond their warranty period.

Have you added aeration with air stone or anything to try and perk it up? As jay stated- report now as if you wait until guarantee expires, first question asked is why you waited so long?

There is an airstone under it. Will contact. Like I said, never seen one last this long and odd.

It isn’t eating or trying to eat, right? If it is, then this could be UNWD….

Remarkable. The swimming description is spot on. Only makes minor effort for food as can't swim. Never seen a fish linger and look so bad this long.

Even trying to eat is diagnostic for this syndrome. Sorry - I haven’t found a cause (and thus, no cure) for this.
