Lethargic wrasse with possible white spots

Good morning,
We have two wrasse, one carpenter’s flasher wrasse and one red head Solon fairy wrasse. They’ve been in a QT tank and have completed the full QT protocol as outlined in the current QT protocol thread on R2R— 30 days in copper and 3 doses of Prazi 7 days apart. We have an air stone going in the QT tank. They’ve been doing great, active and eating. The last Prazi dose was on Monday and we’ve been observing them since, and starting yesterday they started to get very lethargic and not interested in food. We did a full water change yesterday in case that would help, but it hasn’t, and today we’re noticing a bit of white spots on the back of the fairy wrasse. Any ideas if this is something?

That looks like possible missing scales? Any chasing seen in the tank?

Shame to see and this fish is moribund and will likely not eat or swim normal going forward. This can be from trauma, or even neurological especially if you noticed fish either not swimming well, swam tail down or swam with a bent spine and despite all this, the wrasse will still attempt to feed and display no damage such as crashing into objects.

Sorry, the angle through the glass is bad to see much detail. The fish is breathing deeply and fast. Did you remove aeration to take the video?
The wrasse does look moribund though…

No, there’s an air stone in there and a hanging filter for additional aeration. Weeks of activity until very recently :(

Sorry - I can’t see anything other than the deep, fast breathing. Did it survive the night? Is there any discoloration around its face?

Sadly both passed in the last 12 hrs. Baffling and frustrating in equal measures.

Sorry to hear. Did you monitor the ammonia in that tank?

Yes, we did weekly 100% water changes through the QT period. Kept an ammonia card in the tank that never rose above yellow (to slightly greenish yellow right before a water change). Used bioblocks throughout to keep a good environment
