I followed the reefkeeping article that is out there if you google aquarium stands.

Here are some pics. Sadly I put water in the tank, no finish work was done just yet! :)

After headers were built, added the 2x6s on 12" center with joist hangers. Nice end result, the bottom of the stand is completely open on this 4'x4' cube

Painted with the red-guard and installed a floor drain underneath

cutting aluminum still creates a lot of dust, always purchase a carbide blade and it will cut like butter

Well, I am a carpenter, so they are DIY but w/ some experience behind them, but they are all built in my back yard like everyone else, except for this first one I had to build in place.
Still good for ideas and inspiration.

Here is the second stand I have built.





There is a small pull-out tray located just over the door. I finally have a safe place to set my tests and stuff when I'm working on the tank.

Aluminum T-Slot Stand.

This stand is for a 70gallon custom tank. The stand measures 36"x22"x30"
