I currently have some egg drop soup forming in my sump. Mostly from the inside of my pipes when I shut down flow during a water change, and it will accumulate over time when I run a filter pad. It's looks like melted cardboard or like egg drop soup. Sometime I get pretty big wads of the stuff lol. I am carbon dosing, but only 3 ml bacto balance daily for 350g. It's a relatively small amount. I dosed much more of other carbon sources in the past and only saw a little pink slime in the sump when I went too high with vodka. This is something different. The system is doing great so I don't just want to stop carbon dosing. I would love to hear everyone else's experiences. Below is the growth on a filter pad. I did completely blow out that heater compartment which had quite a bit growing.

Sorry I can't help with the stuff that is forming. I'm just chiming in because I too dose 3ml BB on my tank of 285g total and do not have anything like this forming. I have two other smaller tanks that I use BB on also with nothing like this in the sump.
