When I first got it a couple months ago.

ATL Crayola Plana:

Color has lightened up a bit, but it is encrusting very nicely and I think it will be a decent size in about six more months or so.

By the looks of those frag disks, it looks like you got yours form Shadowramy (Bruce). I bought a big frag pack from him that also had the Original ATL crayola plana. I tried to find a link to his pictures but couldn't find it.

NVTE and ronnie, could you elaborate on how you are getting the bold purple and green colors with your colonies? I've been struggling with mine, and the purple has turned into a brown color.

I don't do much about my frag tank other than doing waterchanged and add ALk or Cal if needed. Seem like they like light and medium flow. Heard someone said more flow make your corals body thicker to withstand the flow (don't know if it is truth though, but sound interesting to me).

To get rid of the purple, I bleached mine to death......

Up to that point, I just had it in the tank. I don't dose anything fancy, just do water changes daily - 1-2G at a time.

Nice corals everyone!

Generally speaking these is true... higher flow and light also makes them "table".

Here's mine. Running (3) 250W DE Phoenix 14K's and (4) 160W VHO 03's. I like having it on the magnet because I can just turn it for a shot of the top:).

Digging up an old thread. Hoping my plana colony colors up like yours! I can see the beginnings of it, the stalk color is the same, the new growth is light purple, and some of the polyps in the back are green. All the other tips are browned from shipping but over the last month it has changed a lot.

Is this Crayola Plana? Mystery frag I got with a trade years ago. Finally has started to grow.
