I'm running the ati hybrid 8 bulb over the center tank 150 cube, 4 bulb ati with blue leds on the right tank (30 cube) and xr15pro on the left tank (30 cube).

Going through all pages on this thread, and glad I've made the right choice switching from LEDs to T5
I'm ordering the fixture 8x54 watts, should be arrive in two weeks.

Do you guys think an 8x24 is overkill on a 50g cube that's mostly sps? I'm thinking one of these 2 combinations:

4 x Ati blue +
2 x Ati coral +
2 x Ati true actinic

Or

3 x Ati blue +
2 x Ati coral +
1 x Ati purple
2 x Ati true actinic

Is it worth it buy a cheaper secondary fixture to use when breaking in bulbs? I have a dimmable ati fixture that I would rather not take down for the 50 hour break in period.

Nope, but that's just my opinion. Okay maybe if it was 20 bucks. I run a non-dimmable fixture myself.

Yeah, I'd go with 8 bulb but you can have nice sps with 6 bulb too. I just like having more bulbs to play around with.
