Getting this tank dialed in on piece at a time unfortunately so a skimmer is one of the next few things on my list. I have a 25-30 gal tank. Not quite sure found it on the side of the road. It held 23-24 gal with some rock and 2 " of sand bed. Not that most equipment is that specific in tank size it's usually a range. Back on track whats a decent skimmer for my smaller tank that will help clean things up a bit. It's not stocked heavily at all right now.

Do you need a skimmer? I run a few tanks without.
EDIT: no mention if a sump so will have to be some type of hob or in tank skimmer. Rim or no rim could make a difference also.
No sump so definitely will be HOB. I don't know that I need it right now and is definitely not the next piece of equipment on the list it's just on the list so wanted to do some research while I had time to figure it out

For that size tank I wouldn't even bother with a skimmer. You can easily keep nutrients in check with water changes.
