Chalice frags are ok but chalice colonies are something special to behold!

How many of you allow your chalice corals to grow on the sand? If not the sand where? Photos would be appreciated!

Good topic and following..

Mine is just starting to grow off of the large square plug it's on, and onto the sand. I was wondering the same thing. I'm upgrading tanks in a few weeks and want to permanently place it. Will get a pic up when I get home later...

I have a JF Raja Rampage chalice that I am letting grow over the sand and it loves it.

Bare bottom guy here... They are growing on the scape. I have two growing out on magnetic frag rocks on the back wall. Be careful with those chalice corals growing up against the glass by the way all. There's a reefer who started a thread here a couple weeks ago about a chalice coral that was growing up against the glass that he has had all kinds of problems trying to remove.

My Rampage was on a small ledge and grew to drape over it. The first picture was in March of this year, the last 2 were taken tonight. Buddy of mine has a piece I gave him that is growing in a cup shape. Crazy how they grow completely different from one another.
