I’ve been experimenting with trying to take my photography to the next level, this time with off camera flash—I had some amazing pics I had just had to share.

As always, open to any feedback for improvement. Happy reefing friends. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I love your Christmas tree worm picture! What's the equipment you are using to take your pictures and are you using any post-processing software (lightroom) or no?
Looks great

Same questions as above.
Thanks! I’m using the following equipment:
Canon R8 w/100mm macro lens (tripod for coral pics)
Godox v860iii flash w/mag mod diffuser
Post-processing in Lightroom.

Believe it or not I got the shots set up and my three year old took all coral pics hehe.

great shots and love that your 3 years old is involved in the tank and photography !
believe the wate3rmark is taking away from the clarity and cleanliness of the shots as it messes up the background... id take it to a corner of the image

Thanks for the feedback. I normally do a corner image for the watermark.

Unfortunately in the photography world I’ve been hearing of an uptick in photos being used without permission so I got a little obnoxious with the watermark.

Aside from the watermark (which I agree with) anyone other constructive criticism?

Also I’m open to others sharing their photos they’ve been trying to “level up” on here too. We can all learn from each other. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes: I get excited about sharing my pics I know there has to be others that feel the same way.

love them
but its blurry
and consider the rule of thirds
im only seeing a fish, not really any story, get creative with shooting at different angles, some distortion, maybe black and white
it also seems like there is waay too much contrast in some of the pics
thats just my opinion though
i love them !!

It’s been a bit and I’ve recently been trying to learn portraits (not-aquarium related)…but I figured I’d post a pic I took this week while playing with my new flash. This flash might have been a little too powerful for it.

Apologies everyone, I don’t know why it posted blurry. Gotta love the compression on the forums. Let’s try that again.
