Hello hello all!!!

New to this hobby and so excited! This is my first marine tank. I have grown up with tropical tanks before but oh boy this is something else haha.

I've had my eyes on a Waterbox 90.3 for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger and just do it. It arrived this week.

I will post equipment that I got soon. Today I am just getting started on the cabinet build and modifying the sump.

I was super interested in the redsea reef mat over the filter socks, so I have removed the glass baffles in the sump to accommodate more room for it plus a skimmer eventually and maybe even a refugium down the track.

I got the cabinet in Aspen colour. So gorgeous. And super happy with the stand. Doors aren't on yet because I am still modifying the sump. So when that's finished it'll go underneath, middle support and doors on, plumbing in and good to go (I hope).

I'm so keen to get started and share my experiences in this community.

Let's goooooo!

Has it been set up? Time to post some new pics!
Unfortunately no. Not long after I posted, we found out we will be moving in the next few months so I decided not to cause it'll just be a pain to have to pull down again. So fingers crossed it won't be too long a wait.

I'm definitely gonna work on the rock scape though in the meantime. Will post some photos when I'm finished.

Hellooo,

This is what I've started with on my aquascape. I guess what I was going for is a sea dragon skeleton. Inspired by Subnautica (a video game). Using CaribSea Shapes, I used two donut pieces for the eye socket section and broke up some base pieces to make the rest.

I've got arches that I'm going to use as his spine and then whatever's left I'll use to create extra caves for hiding spots.

Underneath the skull is a whole cave and swim through area. I'll also be adding more caves and swim through spots to keep the fishies happy and safe.

Let's goooo!

Hellooooo!

Okay so I've got some good news and some even better news. The good news is I think I have finished playing with rocks and glue. The even better news is we aren't going to be moving now so I can actually set this tank up. With. Water!

I'm hoping tomorrow but could be next week too depending on work.

Any hoo... What do you think of the aquascape. Did it end up okay? I was so excited cause I was able to glue some real shark teeth on to give it a little extra ✨razzle dazzle✨. I really like how the arch pieces came together to make the spine with a cool twisting S formation.

We are getting there.

Let's goooooo!

Hellooooo!

She's up and running. I called her Leviathan Lagoon! I'm a bit excited. Okay that's an understatement.

I added ammonium chloride and a nitrifying bacteria (which I think is why the water is a bit cloudy?).

I also added a couple of live rocks from LFS (they had worms on the rocks and I read that bristleworms are good fireworms bad) I can't tell what these guys are, but I did make a post on r2r and got feedback that they look like bristleworms. Fingers crossed.

I was pretty proud of setting up all the equipment. Took me ages but was quite fun. Please excuse my cable management hahaha I did try.

I haven't plugged the red sea reef mat on yet as I didn't want to strip everything out of water. Once it's finished cycling I'll turn it on. I'll also even out the sand too as it got pushed everywhere while I was trying to configure wavemakers. Easy fix tho.
The cord and black box that's in the middle is the return pump I had spare that I was using to create movement while I tried to figure out the wavemakers (it's gone now tho).

Ammonia is high as expected
This was the first test so will monitor over the next few days/weeks and we'll see what happens.

Let's goooooo!
