Hi - I will be getting a Red Sea 425 or 525 (depending on how much I can sway the Wife) and I am debating between Kessil 360WE and the Radion G4 Pro. Do you guys recommend one over the other? Why?

How many 360s or G4s for a 5 foot tank?

How many 360s or G4s for a 4 foot tank?

The Tank will be mixed reef primarily LPS hammers, torches, frogspawn, and Bubble tips. I am settled on led because of heat issues and cost to run.

Thanks!

I started with 2 g3 pros on my reefer 450 but wound up adding a third. Much better coverage and helped bring my par up to sps requirements.
Just updated those to G4's and I couldn't be happier. Those lights really brought some colors to my little reef.

Just go with the Kessils save the coin, if you need the third that will be much further down the line.

Thanks guys. BPN that tank looks awesome.

Here are my thoughts. I like the Kessil shimmer but don't like the LED Color separation, i.e. The colored dots, from the Radions. However I like the controllability of the Radions and the fact that I have ecotech pumps - Votex and Vectra - that they will be compatible with. I am also worried about Kessil's long term reliability as I've read a few posts where the died after a year or two.

Looks great. Do you get a disco effect with the G4s?

I don't notice it as bad with the reflectors. I think because they are bringing light back in at a different frequency it mutes it a little. If that makes any sense.
I guess a better analogy would be a strobe light in a dark room opposed to turning a light on in the room. Still strobes but less noticeable.
The biggest tell for me is my oldest daughter had some kind of brain surgery that effects her eyes. With the reflector she has no problem tank gazing. Before it would cause her one eye to bug out make her dizzy.

Still working out which lights to buy. Narrowed down to:
2 Kessil AP700s
2 Radion G4 30s
4 Kessil A360s
2 Vervves

Any thoughts on these? Tank will be a mixed reef with more LPS than SPS.

When I say Disco effect I'm not referring to Shimmer. I like shimmer. Disco to me is color separation appearing on the sand. Some LEDs show colored dots on the sand and sides of tank.

Do the G4s have this? That is my biggest concern about them.

Thanks!
