If I get the Visparspectras the tank is going to be built into a wall to wall bookcase I would need to hang them close to the tank but I wouldn't want the lights to create a solid beam on each side. Any tips? Also the relassy's are long and wide so they might not have that problem.

You’ll need a 3/8 threaded rod, painted black, if you going to Visparspectra, these lights are meant to hang and come with that kit.

Replace all the lenses with 120° lenses, or since it will be so close to the waters surface, just remove the lenses. Either will eliminate the disco effect, and give more even spread.
