Thoughts on lighting a Red Sea Reefer 170 (24”x20”).

Tank will be mainly sps with a few lps. Leaning towards led fixture.

Would love some input and suggestions. Appreciate the help!

I’m pretty happy with my Orphek compact on my 170

I dont have a par meter, but BRS has videos with par measurements for a lot of the fixtures.

What is your goal for the tank? Lighting will depend on that. If what you want to put in doesn't require high light then don't go route. I'm planning on doing SPS and was looking at the 300 XL, I know it is about a food longer, and was going to go T5/LED hybrid.

If you are going to keep SPS, I would recommend a hybrid fixture our two hydra 32’s or two G5 X15’s. There is at least one reefer on here that uses two Hydra 52’s on that tank. I use a hybrid with a hydra 26.
