I have an AI Prime hd that I have setup on a fluval evo 13.5. Ok trying to get a good schedule going for it where I can make the corals happy and not over due it for the tank. Been getting algae on rock work and sand bed. Maybe I have them running too high and for too long. Tanks been setup for 3ish weeks. Ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 25 and phosphate .14. I know that I for sure am in the ugly phase as we speak. Going to do a water change tomorrow and take a look at numbers afterwards. Any help would be appreciated.

Only advice you'll be able to get from this is don't run your light more than 12 hours. I currently run Red Sea 50 light 7:30am-7:30pm with 2 hours to ramp up and down (8hrs at max light)

As far as how strong your light should be, that depends on what you want to grow. Super high if you want to grow acros, relatively low for softies. Ultimately, you'll want to get a par meter from an LFS or someone in your reefing club

Looking back to your reefing roots: Did you start with Instant Ocean salt?
