I’m trying to understand stand lighting more & how to make a schedule things like that. Im not sure what kind of light I have, if it’s a good light or not, what the adjustments should be for it? I bought my tank from a guy and he gave me the light with it. Would anyone be able to identify the kind that I have?

it's a 60watt "black box" light which means it could work great or maybe not, basically it's not a brand name so you don't know the reputation. But it could work great...

Toss it and get a new one. The problem is you have no idea what spectrum is being output or whether the 60 watts is a real figure of just an imaginary number they have printed on the lable.

The problem with having a light of unknown quality is that it is a very difficult thing to identify if it is causing a problem or not.

Any recommendations on a good light? That isn’t to hard on the wallet

it also depends what's going in ur tank?
Right now I just have 2 black clown fish & some zoanthids. I just cleared up a huge algae bloom & while that was going on I wasn’t taking good care of my tank so my zoanthids don’t look like they’re doing to well so I’m trying focus on getting them to recover & make sure I have a better understandings on my tank and how to take care of it before I add anything else

BRS did an investigate video on these black box leds and in my experience they worked great on my mixed reef until I upgraded to the hydras.

Just wanted more control with which spectrum I wanted but these lights will do just fine.

A problem that I saw was the high hotspot right in the middle but if you raise the lights higher so 12-14" off the waterline it'll work great.

Start off low with maybe 10% whites and 50% blues and see how that goes.

This is how high mine is. I was running it at 100% blues & about 10% white all day for about 9hrs. I have to fix that.

Considering that fish don’t care about light and you have only zoo polyps, I would change nothing at all and continue to work on your water.
I run blues at 100% and whites at 10% on my Chinese black boxes.
Your height is fine.
Once set, resist changing those settings.
keep the sponge in that aqua clear clean weekly and do your 10% water change weekly as well.
The secret is keeping ALL parameters in the range with as little flux as possible.

Should I adjust the light through out the day or just keep it 100% blues and 10% whites all 9hrs.

If your light permits, set them to ramp up from zero to 100% at first, then from 100% to zero, for the first and last hours respectively. I actually have my ramp up and ramp down time set for two hours each, for a total of 10 hours. That gives me six hours of full intensity.
