What would you do or other suggestions. Going over a IM 40 cube and want sps.

Kessil AP9x or Reef Brite XHO with an old kessil a350? Gonna smart switch the a350. The old kessil is one I bought forever ago for a new tank that never happened in 2013.

Also considering a Reef Breeders v2.

Thanks!

I personally would go for the ap9x but it's more about what kind of lighting you want (shimmer, no shimmer, intense shimmer, better color blending, etc). I think your options will be fine regardless. I'm not sure if the single a350 with 2 reef brutes would be enough for a 40 gallon to cover the whole tank. Good thing about the kessils is that you don't need to mount them super high.

Yep. Problem is that by the time I get the Bluetooth controller and the XHO I'm close to $400 and I feel that I'll have a lighting system that's not up to 'par' as opposed to biting the bullet and getting ap9x.

I think 4 light bar with the single kessil would work if you wanted to do that route. Two a160s and two reef brites would probably be fine too i'd imagine.

I struggled deciding on lights for my 75g. Finally pulled the trigger on the reef breeders very pleased as are my corals.

I basically have a stripped down version of those on my tank (ocean revive). The only thing I wish was that I didn't need to mount them as high. Other than that, corals in the right par spots do very well
