Curious what if any effect glass, acrylic or mess lids have on lighting and coral? I have heard the lights could potentially melt/warp some acrylic...
 
What type of lighting specifically?
Potential distance from fixture.
 
LED, arm mounted adjustable....
Can’t see that on a properly working light at least 8” from the surface.

I have 5 lights plus two T5’s (which can run hot) above mesh lids for years.

The impact on corals is very small on mesh.

I’m not much for acrylic type lids as I always want maximum gas exchange for PH stability.
