Awesome pics! My favorite piece is the clam. Such amazing color!

Is he starting to soak up Alk yet?
I love the clam too. It's so vibrant and it is a nice size too. It's probably around 4.5". Am going to check Alk this morning but before I started dosing some 2 part I was reading a .3 drop in dkh per 24 hours. After I started dosing it has held pretty steady. I should probably test twice a day (once before dosing and then again a couple of hours later) to really pinpoint how much dkh I'm losing and replacing per day, but I've only been testing once per day (dosing in the morning and then testing a couple hours later) and it has been pretty steady.

I do see some new looking growth ridges on the clam (bright white ridges visible when the clam pulls back it's mantle) so it would seem that new growth is happening.

Did you get your doser in yet?
Should be arriving in the mail today.

I just checked pre-dosing today and my dkh has dropped to 7.9 dkh at 12:49 today down from 8.5 dkh at 9:50 am yesterday.

Dosed two part and will check again in a couple hours.

Are you dosing even parts alk and calc?

Yeah. I bought some seachem reef fusion 1 and 2 (because that's all I could get my hands on and my alk was dropping .3 dkh per day and getting close to 7 dkh) started dosing to replace the .3 and raise dkh by .1 or so a day over the course of two weeks until I got back to steadily keeping 8.3 or 8.4 post dosing.

Yesterday out of curiosity I checked the dkh and then didn't dose to see where I ended up and it went from 8.5 to 7.9 in just over 24 hours.

I want to get the doser going so I can more accurately dose the 2 part and then also deliver it over a longer period of time during the day to avoid big swings.

How's the dosing going?
I haven't gotten the dosing pump hooked up yet. I ordered a dosing liquid container and some hose from BRS and that should be here Monday or so.

I've been monitoring my dkh and dosing by hand and I'm staying pretty consistent in the 8.6-8.8 range, but my dkh consumption has been a bit all over, ranging from .6 to .2 dkh usage. I'm going to continue my to a day tests just to see if any sort of consistency gets established. I'm gonna need more reagent for my Hanna checker [emoji28]

Such a clean dosing set up!
Thanks! Now all I have to do is get the doser running [emoji28]

I bought it used so it didn't come in factory default mode with the WiFi hotspot enabled so I can't connect via my smartphone like I would have been able to on a new one.

Will be borrowing my sister's PC laptop to do the reconfiguration and set up. I only have a smartphone and a Chromebook and the ghl software only runs on a full-blown windows based PC.

Once I get it set up though I should be able to run everything through my phone and the ghl app.

Ha, watches are one of my other interests [emoji6] I think the watch in that picture is my Aquacy Hei Matau dive watch with abalone dial on a Barton watch bands silicone strap.

I'm not huge into high end luxury watches (because I can't afford it) but I have quite a few Seiko dive watches, some Orient watches, a Hamilton chronograph, and a couple others.

A man after my own heart. Reef keeper and budget mechanical watch collector. I am wearing my Seiko SARB 035 today, but its not the best for reefing lol. I wear my Orient Ray 2 most days, especially when working on the tank. Bonus matchy matchy points for both being asian.

What Hamilton Chrono do you have? I am considering a Swiss Chrono for my next buy. My collection is only Japanese so far.

The Hammy I have is the aviation x-patrol chronograph. I wanted a panda dial chronograph and a Rolex Daytona just wasn't in the cards [emoji28]

dang. You've got great taste. The Samurai is so clean.

I'm looking at the Kahaki Chrono but might end up buying another diver instead lol.

Here is my Sarby today.

Doser is set up and programmed.

Dosing the reef fusion 1 and 2 for now until I'm out of it... Which according to the ghl doser app will be about... 121 days at the current dosing rate [emoji28]

Maybe my alk usage will pick up and I'll need to start dosing more than 3 ml a day.

You could always add some more corals if you want to use more alk [emoji23]

Don't think I haven't thought of that [emoji28]

I counted last night and I have 22 frags in addition to my clam. 21 of them are SPS or LPS... So you should think the all usage would be up there. Most are pretty small frags though.

Lol I was joking. Once those montis take off I'm sure you'll be sucking alk up.
