I have been using the same brand of frozen Mysis for a few years now. Over the last few months, I’ve been finding these little fish in the cubes - across several different packs of cubes. I’m not sure what they are but my main concern is that I feed Mysis to my Seahorse. I have accidentally fed him one of these little fish - I grabbed it thinking it was a large shrimp and just as he snapped it up, I realized it was another one of these fish.
Has anyone else come across these & do I need to worry about anything here?

I wouldn’t worry .primarily the mysis shrimp are fresh water and if these fish are in it there would be little chance that a fresh water disease would make it going into saltwater . To me i would think it adds diversity to your feeding and the fact that your seahorse ate it and didn’t spit it out it’s a win win .

But then on the other hand I would worry about the brands quality control and what else might be getting in to you cubes . Might what to switch brands and contact the company or distributor to find out how this is possible.

That makes sense, I kept thinking it had to be a fluke but now it’s happened multiple times. I was sort of expecting others to say that they’d had this happen too as it’s a really popular brand and I have found these guys in both regular frozen mysis cubes and Spirulina frozen mysis cubes. They were also bought at different LFSs too.
I’m definitely going to send them a message. Thank you!

PE Mysis are harvested from glacial, Canadian lakes. Surely some by-catch can get caught in the net. It ads variety and nutritional value to the food.
