Kole tangs usually won’t eat nori, they much prefer micro-algae or the film on glass due to their mouth structure which has evolved to scrape up algal matter.

I’m kind of in a similar boat, trying to figure it out while he’s still fit and happy... but he’s gonna run low on rock algae soon. What foods work best for bristletooth tangs with these preferences?

I wouldn’t worry too much. He’ll keep working on the rocks and find anything that pops up. My bristletooth tang ate as much LRS as she could get but would go at the rocks every other time of day.
