so i have a yellow eye kole tang he wont touch any seaweed strips i put in ive tried rods seaweed hes took a couple pecks at it using the rubberband to rock but just spits it back out hes grazing on my rocks all day though and must poop 100 times a day seems like every 3-10 mins hes pooping is this normal for them to spit seaweed back up?

Kole tangs usually won’t eat nori, they much prefer micro-algae or the film on glass due to their mouth structure which has evolved to scrape up algal matter.

I’m kind of in a similar boat, trying to figure it out while he’s still fit and happy... but he’s gonna run low on rock algae soon. What foods work best for bristletooth tangs with these preferences?

I wouldn’t worry too much. He’ll keep working on the rocks and find anything that pops up. My bristletooth tang ate as much LRS as she could get but would go at the rocks every other time of day.
