Can little neck clams live in our tanks

For a short time. I’ve thrown a few in throughout the years and they always die withing a couple months.
I've read they live south to yuctan. That's why I ask.

Little neck from the store are usually cold water.

I think there should be a tag that has where they are from on the bag they come in by law.

The big ones I had at from cold ish water but survived or about a year. Got nuked be a dying sponge.
They also can’t be in ice too long

I don’t think it’s the temperature that kills them.
It is.
The saying goes , you can’t mix oceans.
Cold water are temperate , our tanks are tropical.
If we could , I’d have a LOT more stuff in my tank.

I think it would be cool to have a couple of clams in the tank.
Look for the old zoa rocks at the lfs. I’ve gotten some with dozens in em.
Mostly mussels really. Largest about 2in.

There’s an oyster on the squammy.

Years ago I collected clams in Fl in the intercostal where the water was well into the 80s and they still die in my 78 degree tank.

Yea, that wasn’t temp.
I’ve had some of the ones In that pic for years.
But I’ve also had a flame red scallop for four years.

Maybe I have a clamb thumb

Have you done anything special to feed them?

TIA...
I rotate frozen foods , have a large Refugium.
For foods , spirulina brine , rotifers, LRS, fish eggs, then whatever “reef blend” the lfs has.
