Live rock in a cycled tank

I have just finished cycling my 70 gallon saltwater tank with 40 lbs dead rock...I'm thinking about adding few pounds of live rock to it... what's your opinion about this? will it be beneficial for me, or just a waste of money & time, since I'll have to wait more time before adding livestock...

I must have put 5 or so different reefs on the boards over the years, all pretty well aged. not one had a delay. it wasn't to be a rule breaker without cause, it was to effect total control over the tank day 1 and have it do what I wanted. cycles do not have arbitrary timeframes, they are specific in allowance

I'm confused? If it's live rock, it's good to go. Shouldn't have to wait at all.

It will be good for your tank as long as you hold off on adding livestock until you're sure you won't get an ammonia spike.
