Live sand??

I'm in the process of building 250 gallon dimensions.I want all white sand and probably 350 to 400 pounds!what does everyone use as far as soon goes tropical edien reef flakes??
Was thinking about doing 2/3 .5 gran size and 1/3 .2 gran size !
Any and all input is welcome!

I used a DSB, and started it with Southdown many years ago, added and kept it to a 6+" depth using Caribsea's sugar sized oolite. I didn't use the "live" sand, instead I got an activator from IPSF to start, and then, in a few months, added their reef worm diversity pack(I gave my system booster shot of these every couple years too.)
