I’ve been using this salt since shortly after starting this thread. It’s been great for me, mixes well, my alkalinity stays solid (I do use kalk) but for the price I dig it. I think I’m on my 3rd or 4th Box already.

Interesting info.
I picked up a couple boxes of LA salt with a coupon that was about to expire.
Mixed up a 60 gallon container and had to wait 2 days before using it.
First thing I noticed was the precipitation on the inside of my mixing barrel and on my powerhead and heater in the barrel.
Just like Reef Crystals. Slight difference was it was white, where the RC was always more of a tan color.

I posted on a thread on Facebook saying that Liveaquaria salt is Fritz salt. No one from Fritz denied it, they just asked me where I heard that in a pm back to me. I posted back saying it's pretty obvious from the stats and packaging. They didn't say anything back. It would have been real easy for them to say no it's not, but they didn't.

Bottom line is there isn't that many facilities making aquarium salt in the US. Liveaquaria has shown no such facilites. The wording is almost identical, the parameters and quantities are the same, and no one from either company had denied it. I'd say it's safe to assume it's the same salt.

It's a pretty decent salt. I've been using Fritz for almost 2 years and now am using Liveaquaria. I was able to get 205 gallon boxes of liveaquaria from drsfostersmith for $28. Hard to go wrong at that price! Unless everything dies of course. Lol

I tested my LA fresh batch of mix salt at 1.026 --- ALK was 9.7. I'm considering just going back to Reef Crystals. ALK drops if you keep you salt stored. I had it as low as 6.7 in a mixing station. I also get the white residue. I feel it's not much different then RC other than the wildcard consistency.

I have been using in for awhile with pretty good results, mixed up a batch and tested mag and it was 1500+ using salifert kit. I don't know if storing it for weekly water changes is making it rise but seems kinda high.

Tested at 1500+ for me in Oct of 2017 when it was first released.

I just tested my LA Reef salt.
Temp =78
Salinity=1.026
Calcium=410
Mg=1350
Alk=8.1
K=410

Seems to be a descent salt. I picked mine up in March 2019 so it seems this recent batch was pretty good. Just thought I’d throw some recent numbers in there for people.
