Hi All !
I am a fairly experienced reefer and I have a 10G nano (space constraint). I have a purple lobster that I got about 5 months ago. The problem with him (or her?) is that I hardly ever get to see him. Even when I feed him, he hurries out of the rock work, grabs the food and disappears. So boring.
I want to get something that stays out and not too shy. Of course, I don't want to start a turf war. Can I keep a cleaner/fire shrimp with the purple lobster? will they fight (given the small space)? If I can, which shrimp would you recommend? I also have softies/LPS in the tank.
If not, is there a way to coax him out? he's so colorful and cute but it's kinda sad that he's just stuck behind the rocks all the time. :D

Hey, honestly I don’t know they would get along in that size. If you want to try, I would opt for a skunk or fire shrimp which are more in the open as they get comfortable in their environment. That said, if you hand feed corals, be prepared to be annoyed because shrimp tend to take food directly from the corals before they can ingest it.

Yes they are nocturnal or blind like most. First of all your aquarium is very small so look for inhabitants that will give you daylight pleasure, a skunk or cleaner shrimp are out most of the day, a fire shrimp can be abit of both hiding and out about for food.
My cave in a 45g host pistol shrimp, blood/fire shrimp, firefish...
I don't see half the stuff I purchased but I know they there :)
