Local shrimp

I buy local shrimp to feed my anemone but I notice it always makes my water have like foam on top I asked what they do to it and all they do is wash it with baking soda is it safe ?
Is the foam on the water safe ?

Baking soda will raise your alk, noghing significant in thar amount. Wome people will even use it as a way to increase alk. I would test to verify but Im sure its likely not a problem, baking soda will not cause any other iswues.
