Hi first of all thank you for letting me join this great forum.

I have a problem connecting Reef-pi using browser localhost:8080. I am using Wifi and thinking that i have to change the config file but not sure. Can you tell me how to open the Reef-pi config file

Below is text from my Raspberry pi

Best regards
Michael

I know _nothing_ about reef-pi, but...

localhost:8080 This means that you're connecting to YOURSELF on port 8080. I suspect you need your raspberry pi's address here, rather than localhost. If it's connected to a wifi network, you can usually get online with the wifi router and see what devices are connected, and what IP they're using.

Likely, it'll be something like 127.0.0.x:8080 or 192.168.1.x:8080. You'll have to find the exact IP address that is assigned to the raspberry pi wireless nic.

There is a whole thread on this. The developer is the guy who runs it. Has recently released v1.0. I'm sure someone there could jump in and get you going.

Hi ,
hugs to all of you for responding to this thread, time again r2r reminds me how awesome family I have :-) . Thank you @Brew12 ,

@mhp1972 are you running 1.0 ? If so, the port number has been updated to use 80.
Can you also mention how you are accessing reef-pi ? From the display/browser running on the raspberry pi (in which case "http://localhost" will work) or from another system , like a tablet or mobile or computer, you have to specify the raspberry pi's IP address instead of localhost.

You can ask your question on the main thread as well, lot of other folks (who have built reef-pi based controllers) are in it, so they may be able to lend a hand as well.
