So I have been tankless for over a year. But close on a new house Monday, which offers new possibilities of a tank. But purchasing a tank is probably a year or so out, I just bought a house tank budget is currently 0 dollars lol.

I did keep my equipment so have:
Trigger Sump 26 Amethyst
Calcium Reactor
Profilux 4
KH director
Will both require new probes.
3x AI Primes
DIY T5 4 bulb
Tunze 6055 powerheads.
Assorted hanna checkers
And other peripheral items.

Will update as other decisions are made like size, inhabitants, what room, etc.

And you really want a new tank? Think of those month long camping trips you will miss.

lol i haven’t bought anything new, so not set in stone i am starting. and really debating fowlr if i do pull the trigger. something low aggression like a tank of assorted butterfly species. Where the difficulty is the initial acclimation not the long term.

But perhaps a 280 gallon eventually.

Stocking being
1 Forcipiger flavissimus
1 Chaetodon collare
1 Chaetodon xanthurus
1 Chaetodon capistratus
1 Chaetodon plebeius

And a few smaller peaceful fish for the bottom of the tank activity, as that stocking might make some inverts impossible

Warning.
For anyone reading if I made butterflyfish sound easy, was not intended. Most are incredibly territorial to members of their own species unless a verified male/female pair, they will kill conspecifics. They are also very fragile in collection and shipping, and some are very difficult to get eating in captivity. But once acclimated and eating, have similar care requirements to more commonly kept marine species.

Craigs List, eBay, and Facebook Market Place, may place you closer to your dream. Even if you think you don’t want to go that route it doesn’t hurt to look. You maybe surprised at what is listed.
