Hi all.

I am always interested in the differences in the way hobbiest go about reefing in general. From beginning at empty tank up to fraging coral and breeding fish.

So recently something happened in my tank that has not happened in years. Background, 10 years old tank, the 2 tangs just about that old. Basic 180, sump, reactor, skimmer, led. No other equipment or automation beside pumps.

TO THE QUESTION

Look at the tangs below, just leave a comment. (This is not a trick, real pix with last 2 weeks, this is posted in disease FYI)

Ignore the hlle and fins in yellow, that is not part of this discussion

I’m interested also as the spots on the Vlamingi seemed a little large for ich, etc

I hope I don’t disappoint anyone ( @Frtdrmrose7 :)) when I finally say what was going on.

I didn’t think the thread would be something other than,
I think it looks like x, I would do y.

I definitely want to make sure everyone know it is not a trick, it is not I am better or you are wrong. It’s not a statement on any method of reef keeping.

It is simply for my research so to speak.

I want to wait for whatever is going on to run it’s course, I will post where I was going with this Sat or Sun.

Ok. So we can assume the fish are still alive. Hmmm....

Thanks everyone for their time and responding. I was hoping there would be more responses.

I have been doing some major changes in my established tank and Ich popped up, along with maybe infection. I have not seen this in years, so it became a perfect time for me to gather some data for my current project.. I will not say the treatment used since I don’t want to bring up qt v no qt debate.

My goal was simply gathering data on disease ID and management. I am interested in the initial response when my tangs with ich pics were shown and the response now to the results thus far.

Apparently my scientific method is greatly flawed so I will just say the Vlamingi is 99% clear, Yellow also. Purple still fighting since he got it last.

Again sorry I feel I disappointed all, but at least my guys are getting over this cold.
