I'm looking for a light recommendation. We had to have some work done in our house so the tank had to be moved. the contractors broke the light on the tank at some point. I don't have the packing information and I bought it from a local store that is no longer in business. My dad bought a replacement light 24/7 sunrise to sunset light but it's only 24w. But with the lighting issues and the stress of the moving of the tank the anemones are starting to be affected (bleaching). Any help for something I could get here with prime ASAP would be great. (And suggestions on how to help the anemones get back on their feet without shock would be great).

Tank is 40 gal, 36 inches across its also 2 years old and the anemone is about a year old and has cloned itself twice. (Water parameters have always been fine, they have always been good eaters, and were growing it wasn't until this light incident that things went sideways)

What size tank
What light was broken?
If you don’t know the name can you post a pic of the broken light ? It probably has the name and model printed on it somewhere

Can you tell us more about the size of the tank? Reef Breeders lights are a great value and there are a lot of other great lights as well.

That would make my life easy. The contractor threw it away

I updated my original post as well. I had an ADHD moment and forgot the stuff I was trying to remember. It's 40 gal 36 inches across

If your looking for inexpensive options, Viparspectra 165 or Nicrew 150 would grow anything that size.

Thanks! I can get the vipar by Monday! I'm less concerned about the cost and more the time. I don't want them to stress and more. Do I need to worry about the light change shocking them?

Yes, start at say 20% (Viparspectra) or 2nd lowest setting for nicrew. See how things respond over 2 weeks, then, up it a bit monthly.

Both those lights are significantly more powerful than your 24watt, so go slow.

It’s not unusual for these lights to run 50% at full.

For my upcoming tank (48x39x25), I'm going Reefbreeders. 2x 48" Photon V2s. Excellent spectrum and more power than I'll EVER need. You can find some gently used ones out there for about 50 to 60% of full freight.

And excellent screen name. Not too many people appreciate Lovecraft these days. In all my decades of reading books in the Horror genre (my Mom started me off with Carrie by Stephen King when it was first published --- i was 10 in 1974), I've not come across anyone better. Not even close. Also, something you've undoubtedly noticed, you've got an extra 't' in Cthulhu. A Mod may be able to correct that if you're so inclined.

Thank you! I don't mind poking around on marketplace.

Also thank you! I actually have Lovecraft tales of horror staring at me from my bookshelf. I got lucky that I love Lovecraft and all things horror in general and having a last name that most people find impossible to pronounce. At a charity event the emcee couldn't pronounce and just dubbed me Cthulhu and the rest is history. I'm not surprised there's an extra "t", my typing and thinking speed are never in sync. Typos, typos everywhere.

I found a nicrew 150w. Just placed the order and it will be here Monday. This tank has become my dad's new retirement project so I will have him set it up. Makes him feel less like an old man that needs extra help.

Good luck!
Nice light, 3 pucks.
Will easily grow Acros and clams.
Start with lowest setting.

The new light arrived today. They are still quite pale (obviously) but they have perked up SO much.
