But what could it have scrapped itself on in a bag? Or disease? Treat or let go for a few days? It is up and swimming around.

This is not uncommon with these Wrasse.

Keep an eye on it. Agree with @Big G antiseptic will help prevent infection if it is a minor cut or injury.

Great, just making sure. Soaking food in selcon wouldn't hurt either. Do you have any antibiotics on hand in case it gets infected? I would get some in case the ruby reef doesn't do the job. Not sure which one would be best though but others can assist like @Humblefish, he has a thread or sticky on bacterial infections you should check out. Good luck!

Fishmox is the only antibiotic out of those 3 and its amoxicillin I believe, which is not the best choice based on my research in the past. Some good choices are metronidazole (seachem metroplex), kanamycin (seachem kanaplex), and API Furan 2. The "trifecta" for stubborn infections is all 3 together. Not sure which you would try first before doing that but check the bacterial infection thread. You can find all on Amazon as well. Good luck.

I'd suspect uronema. in the future hypersalinity 37ppt can keep it at bay. otherwise chloroquine tx would be best.

I have a box of API erythromycin. It’s pretty much the same thing you take but in an easier form to use. It’s pretty broad spectrum and most pet stores carry it.

If it was Uronema wouldn't be showing on clowns ? Just looked at humblefish's thread on it looks like flesh isn't scratched or torn in his photos?
