I plan to leave a tank for 6 months with one fish. I am looking for an AC feeder that will allow me to feed every other day,

I'm finding plenty of AC feeders, but none allow the "every other day" feature. Another option would be one that can be used with an outlet that can be turned off or on with a Controller but the feeder would have to turn on (by itself) when the power comes on. (Most have an ON/OFF button that has to be pushed).

If anyone knows of such a feeder, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.

The reason for the every other day feeding is because I need to make the hopper full of food last for 6 months. If it doesn't, there should be plenty of pods in this 100 gal tank for the one six-line wrasse that will be in the tank. And, I have someone I can call to refill it if necessary but prefer not to resort to that if I can avoid it.

I have a GHL controller and know nothing about the Neptune AFS. I can control an outlet with the GHL. Can I plug this feeder into such outlet and have the feeder turn on when the current comes on? Thank you
No, you need the Neptune Apex.

Do you know if it is AC and can feed Every-Other-Day? I'm not easily finding that info but will keep looking if you don't know. Thanks.

It is AC. You can plug the auger motor into any timer controlled plug. Mine is pluged into my power bar and set to feed three times per day.

So if it is plugged into an outlet that is "OFF", will the feeder turn on by itself when the outlet is powered "ON" or do you have to physically push a button on the feeder to turn it on once the power comes on? Again, I want it to feed only once every other day. Thanks.

There is no switch on the feeder. When there is power supplied to the auger motor it will turn and dispense food.

Here is the "super feeder". I believe it checks all of the boxes that you are looking for. AC, skip a day, you can even get a 1.5 gallon hopper for it.

That looks perfect, as long as it is accurate when dispensing a tiny amount (for one six line wrasse which will be my test fish).
Do you have one? A lot of the videos show it dumping out large volumes for cats and large tanks. Just wondering how precise it is for small volumes. Definitely nice to know about this. Thanks.

I do not have one personally. I am pretty sure @dca22anderson has or had one and may be able to answer the question about if it can feed small amounts as well.

For anyone interested in a feeder that can be used while you are away for a long time, it appears that the AVAST PLANK might be the best bet. It is AC, operates off of a Controller, can dose tiny portions, and has a large hopper.

I learned that the Super Feeder ASF=1 cannot dispense small and precise portions. It may be better for a huge aquarium, pond, or dog/cat.

I will order the AVAST.

Thank you Everybody that contributed.

I refill mine every 3-4 weeks feeding for 1 minute 6 times a day. Six months is a good stretch to leave anything without inspection but it may or possible.

My 02.— yesterday my WiFi was lost and my plank feeder which WAS plugged in to my hydros power (WiFi controlled)strip caused feeder to power on and dump food for about 1 1/2 hour when I was mowing yard.after mowing back inside and tank filled with way too much food. NO WAY I will trust feeder or really anything that would cause catastrophic consequence on WiFi . Luckily I was not away at work ect.. I am putting feeder on digital timer today. Hydros control should have a fail off feature for output on feeder setup I feel.

Curious how you are handling top off water for 6 months? Seems like you found a feeder, but I think a 6 line wrasse alone in a well established 100 gallon will find itself plenty of food.
