Check your local fish clubs. Around here, hobbyists are letting them go for around $30, less if you buy in bulk. Alot of them out there.

You're in LA and you can't find BTAs? I don't think you're looking hard enough! ;) I'm willing to bet if there's any region in the US with the most BTAs, it's probably Southern CA, especially since the majority of the importers/wholesalers are located there.

Definitely check the Facebook groups. I've seen a ton of BTAs for sale or trade. Or maybe Craigslist?

How many and how cheap are you trying to get them? Just pop into a LFS and they should have rainbows for 50$. That where hobbiests offload them.

I have a very plain Jane green one that split that I don't need two of, I'd sell it for 10$ but I'm in San Diego.
