So my good friend Therman got thousands of these with the intention to press them with a device to cut a perfect hole in them for shipping Frags.

Unfortunately he had some trouble in the process scrapped that plan. ( I think the guy he hired to do it kind of left him hanging or something I just didn't come together unfortunately)

I have salvaged a ton of them, using my little death press to cut an X in the bottoms making it relatively easy to slide my Frag plugs into them. Holding pretty well I think.

I'm curious how they're working for you onto receiving end? I haven't gotten any real-world feedback from anyone who has received them yet.

Id be interested to know if the frags are hard to get out, if they stay in the baskets even? Also, wondering if anyone's had any trouble with branches breaking off trying to get them out. Or anything else that you aren't crazy about, I'd be very interested to hear.

Ultimately, they work quite well with little bit taller, slender Frags, and fit perfectly in my 3 inch bags as well.

And these are not to be confused with the solid cups that I've been using from Tidal Guard, which I absolutely love as well.

My order received on Wednesday didn't have these. It was extremely well packed though.

I don't see an issue using them, may even increase water movement across the coral. Anything to help you do what you do, while decreasing effort and cost I'm all for!

I've had them in the last couple of boxes. Way better than the chili's honey mustard cups. Pretty slick.

Mine have all been Tidal Guard cups, which I would have to agree have been pretty awesome.

I’ve had a few shipments with these and there was one branch that had shifted and caught in one of the holes and broke- it was a small branch so no big deal but I did end up using scissors to cut the basket off.
I just use scissors if they have a lot of branches…but they seem to hold well.

Hey thanks a ton for chiming in guys. I was definitely concerned that branches may be broken off while you guys were pulling them out. I broke off a few myself just getting them in. lol. will have to be selective with what I use these on for sure.

anyone have them fall out of the cups completely?

No falling out, they hold in there securely. Also, had no trouble pushing the bottom of the frag plug with my thumb, up and out, easy-peasy

Super duper better, time-consuming alternative is to secure the frag plug in a piece of styrofoam, put it in the basket, then the whole thing floats upside down. The styrofoam will need to be a little bigger than the bottom of the cup to stay in place.

Yeah, that would be sweet but boy I had time for that. I consider myself a lucky man, not a bad idea, though ultimately

I'll confess though I'm always a little leery about adding foreign stuff in the bags as well

like there could be something in or on that Styrofoam that wouldn't be safe in transit

of course . I could be wrong but stuff like that makes me nervous even these cups alone, the broached blade I used to cut the cups, it there's a little rust on it and then I'll clean it off with a little sandpaper, or a little file or something.

Mostly just paranoid about stuff like that really. lol.

I would say that labor intensive would be your main issue, or maybe finding someone to melt the styrofoam precisely like into the mold you need is too much trouble.
I do believe you should death-press it though, rather than the x-cut, just because the frag-plug will likely be off-center. (I’ve never before used so many hyphens writing this, haha)

Got my black Friday box of 20 frags and it had a mix of the new and old cups. Not a single one had popped out of any of the cups, no breakage of any kind. Overall a great experience and a well packed shipment!
