My system is up and running. Rock has been cycling for months and months. Would love some suggestions on the first fish to go in. Have always done Clowns in the beginning, but this tank may be clown free as I am up in the air if I want to do a Nem. Needing some gill ammonia for the next couple of months.

The concept on the tank is slightly minimal rock, it’s ended up as two island with a lot of caves and swim throughs. Limited corals allowed to grow large, mixed with a heavy lean on SPS and clams. And a bunch of nano fish with a few larger ones ( zebrasoma, maybe an angel).
Tank is 48x30x30 with aquascape reaching 50% of the tank height at its tallest. Substrate is a mix of Reef Grade and Fiji Pink.

I have several fish that will thrive in that system. Take a look at some of my posts to see if anything catches your interest.

Since I'm unsure of your preferences, I'm not certain what to recommend. :)

I would suggest starting with a few firefish—perhaps four. If you're interested, I can offer them at $30 each.

Great job so far; now the fun begins!

Chalk bass are way cool and hardy..
I have looked at those quite a bit. The kids on the street tell me they can get a bit aggressive and territorial with age. Like us all.
One of my future fish pairs will be the Cuban Basslets. Thinking there could be an issue here.
I suppose I should state, looking for peaceful/social since they will be the first in and have a few months of the tank to themselves. Don’t want the scape dominated before others arrive
