This should work but you gotta be quick.

Empty water out of tank. Take a small butane torch and burn as much as possible. And repeat till done.

fast and simple... people keep spouting the same things over and over but have you tried a turkey baster with boiling RO/DI? with as much volumn of water as you have you could shoot in 3 or 4 blasts and never budge your tank temp while still nuking a faily large chunk nightly.

Just wanted to thank you for this. I've had a small ongoing outbreak of hydroids and have been unsucessful with kalk paste and superglue. I've heard of boiling water before, but your post got me off my lazy @#$@ to actually try it. One good stream of boiling water and a couple of touch-up shots a day later and it appears that I'm free of that pest!
