Hey all, looking for input on what these white spots could possibly be on my royal gramma. I bought it from the LFS 2 weeks ago and it had these marks on it. I was informed that the 3 grammas they had gotten in stock had jumped out of the QT tank. So I’m not sure if this is just damage or a possible bacterial infection? Looking to see what treatment if needs be would work best. I do live in Canada so medication is limited. Thanks all for the help!

Pics may be slightly blurry as I faintly see spots. They are prone to both ich and flukes. With flukes which are rarely seen with naked eye, there is often evidence of skin rash or scrapes from itching which is not seen
Perhaps a video under same light may be clearer to see

Hey thanks for the response! Sorry for the double post, I was trying to get that video to upload again with no success. Another user suggested I post on YouTube and post the link! So that’s what I have done.

I see the clown hovering around fish. Its likely two things, , , scratch marks from flukes or bites/aggression from clown
If no heavy breathing, loss of appetite, sudden darting or twitching, its likely not flukes and suspect clown fish

Oh wow ok thank you for your input! The gramma seems to be swimming perfect, always out like a crazy during feeding, not flashing. I guess I just never suspected my clown as he’s been great with my firefish! Would you suggest to try and put one in a breeder box of sorts to try and calm aggression?

Its one method for protection. The box may or may not change any aggression

My Gramma has a similar white patch on his side. Almost looks like a loss of color right between the purple and the yellow. It seemed to appear about 6 or 7 months ago and has had no effect on the fish what so ever.

I mean have the marks grown at all from the two weeks you have had them? Are they new or expanding. If they have not changed much in two weeks and they were originally on the fish they are likely just scars as most diseases would move faster than two weeks. I have also seen some fish with tumors that can be not harmful as well, some are though. Not much you can do if that's the case though.

All the markings on the body have been the same since I have gotten it. The one on the pectoral fin with fin deterioration was there before aswell but fin is not recovering

So it likely is just scars, likely from other fish from the LFS or even if its wild caught from before that point. Most visible diseases would grow and kill the fish in two weeks. If its not new or growing I would not worry unless its behavior changes drastically. It may not fully recover ever as it is a large gash. Imagine proportionally if that happened to a person, there would definitely be marks.
