looking for interceptor pills

Does anybody on here have a couple pills they are willing to sell? I need to treat a 185g tank atleast twice.

I would print out as much information as possible on the subject and take it to your local vet.... I'm pretty sure they will give you some after you show them and tell them the situation....

What you're asking is for someone to break federal law. Interceptor is a prescription only medication. Contact vets, in your area. It helps if you print out some information for them, or guide them to areas to research the use of Interceptor, for Red Bugs. More and more vets are becoming aware of this use and are willing to prescribe it for you. Several years ago, when I wanted to obtain some, I spoke with 3 vets about it before finding 1 who was willing to research it. I now have a revolving prescription, through that vet.

Yep best way to get it is call several Vets.....luckily I found a Vet in my area that also has a Reef tank and he knows whats up.

It's a preventive medication so it shouldnt be a big deal geting them for your dog if you have one or you could call your vet and ask.

A vet won't just hand them over, even if you have a dog. In some areas, Heart Worms don't exist, so Vets won't prescribe Interceptor. Even in areas where Heart Worm does exist, giving a dog Interceptor, IF they already have Heart Worm is deadly. Yes, it is a preventative medication, however, if given wrong, it can kill a dog.

If you have a dog that has been seen by a local vet in your area you could go to 1800-petmeds website and place an order. They will ask your dogs name, breed and etc and then they will call your vet to verify that you do have that dog and that it has been seen by their office, then they will process your order and send it to you thru the mail. Thats what I did when I needed to treat my tank a year or 2 ago and it was an easy process.

I printed off some info from the net and took it to a local vet. He said ok in like 5 seconds. He actually thought it was pretty cool.

I went to the vet that I bring all my animals to and brought them a print out of melev's page and they still said no. I think they just didn't want to take the time to look in to it. I went to another local vet and the Dr. was awesome. I brought the print outs but she had already looked it up and place a call to another vet and was telling me all about how to dose. You just have to find the right vet that wants to help you out and doesn't mind doing some leg work.

I had a good experience, like Rev's. The vet was actually fascinated that it was being used for this purpose and was interested to learn about the parasitic copepods. If one vet says no the next will say yes.

An online retailer called my vet and the vet said no because the my dog hadn't been checked for heartworms. If only I obsessed over my dogs like I do my tanks......

I went to 4 different vets with all the print outs and info, and no one would help me. You guys are lucky to have found people that would do that for you.

I had success via online purchasing, but you've got to find the right site. I think the one that worked for me was based out of Canada but i don't remember.

Request an off-label prescription if the vet is hesitant to give them to you. Plus what others have said with giving them print offs/websites.

My vet actually orders it for my fish tank. I have no animals with fur. She is awesome.

The reason your vet said no, due to not checking your dog for heartworms, is because a dog who has heartworms, who's then given Interceptor, will be killed. Some have mentioned that Interceptor is nothing other than a preventative medication, so it shouldn't be any big deal. This is the reason that it is, or can be, a big deal.
