Looking for local frags to purchase

I am trying to get a good collection of corals growing.

Does anyone have anything for sale in the 10-15 dollar range? I may can go a little more but I just hate LFS prices.

I am looking for xenia, frogspawn, hammer, or anything else that would be recommended for a beginner.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the warm welcome.

I currently have a 26 bowfront with 4x24w T5 lights. I have about 40 lbs of live rock.

I have a small frag of button polyps, candy coral, kenya tree, xenia, and 3 mushrooms. I have purchased these from Fishmania and Bermuda triangle over the past few months.

The tank was setup in August but just added 30 lbs of live rock last week.

This guy is in marietta and will have 25 frags delivered for $150. So only $6 each...
Does anyone have any experience with doing something like this?

A friend told me that many of the corals listed are easy to frag but hard to keep alive. I thought maybe I could request to only have soft corals since I'm new.

Thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated! Happy Thanksgiving!

it probly isnt a bad deal. But here are a few things to keep in mind. #1 those are super small frags he is offering. #2 you will run out of room quickly in that tank with that many frags. #3 you will get much better quality and size coral frags from us and you pick what you want. If you choose to get that frag pack im sure you will be happy, But i or several other locals could get you more coral and better for the same price or less

Soooooo....... Rev, do I get some zoa's too????LOL!!! :wink: I will come to the next meeting and more than likely join the club ( haven't fully decided yet), Anyways, when is the next meeting???

Next meeting is in January!!! It will be at Bryan's house if his tank is ready (putting together a bigger tank- can't wait to see it) or my house maybe if Bryan's isn't ready. I have tons of zoas, but none of them are on something I can yank out. I have some of the scary grow everywhere star polyps, but if you are going for xenia (which is very pretty- as are the star polyps) and you want something easy.... This is a good starter. I've got the tubular kind so if you put it by itself on the sand bed and not close to your main rock formation, it won't cross the area between.

I have a ton of stuff too, I'll start looking for easy to grab mushrooms. I think the club can probably set you up for cheap without much of a problem. I've got a ton of sps too, but you'd probably have to have them pretty high up in the tank with T5s? Bryan would know.

T5s are fine for SPS, just need to have the water quality up to par,

Meeting in Jan is planned and going to have some frags for door prizes, so don't miss it! And Nemo, the club is a nice group. Not very demanding in regards to doing anything (though any help with the up coming swap in the fall would be appreciated!!).

She left out trash talking... Alot of joking about other peoples tanks all in good spirits of course unless we are ever on Sunflower Lane, Bryan's house to be more specific. :) In those cases the phrase "The truth hurts" is literal. :)

OK, Nemo! Saw you at the swap. What else did you get? anything fabulous? I got a beautiful (OMG beautiful) clam for a fabulous price. I'm getting new bulbs soon so it won't die (hopefully). Come to the meeting and meet the rest of us. Even though Brandon, David, Tommy and Bryan do trash talk (mainly just picking on each other), they are harmless and I put up with them all because they are really good at this salt water aquarium stuff and anything that I even THINK about, they have already tried and know if it works or not (though they are still working on the LED decisions....). They are a wealth of information and are very helpful in times of need, so I can tolerate the lip. We have a lot of other very knowledgable members too (Jim, Patrick and some others that I don't see as much and can't remember.....) that are great too.

Yes, but you all only use LEDs as accent lights. You haven't made the switch to all LED lights. They use WAY less electricity, are cooler (won't heat up your tank as much, not cool like David is or something.....) and are becoming more affordable.

Maybe you can find a good deal at MACNA this year?
