I was told by the reefbrite lady at the swap to wait 3 years to switch to LED's. Dont know how much she knew/knows, but thats what she said. As of right now I am planning on being there saturday. David is supposed to bring me some zoa frags................. hopefully............

David is good. If he doesn't bring them (only would do that if he doesn't come for some reason) then I can give you his address and you can show up on his doorstep and make him fish them out for you!!! He has some beautiful Zoas!!! I got some stunner Bam Bams that are bright bright bright. I saw some in Bryan's tank and started looking.....

Im still waiting and watching on the LEDs. Right now the technology is changing constantly. Brandon just got some in september and they are already an old design! Of course they will always be changing and getting better, but right now the technology is so new its worth waiting alittle longer. plus the prices will get alittle better when the technology is better.

If your into "Do it yourself" stuff you can get some neat kits and build your own LED with quality components. i think its RAPID LED that sells some kits

Don't hate my corals love my LEDs, so you get the new design with a different plug and see how much that changes the result :). Morons <sigh> hehe.

I'm don't think i'll switch to all LEDs... LED light is a single spectrum from what i've seen where as bulbs give you a wave of numerous different wavelengths of light all from a single bulb. Going to take alot to get me to switch from a metal halide.

Susan are you gonna sit there and let him call you a morron?

Hey everyone!

Sorry that i missed the club meeting. I did go to the frag swap last weekend. It was fantastic. I got 2 toadstool leathers (large one and baby one), 2 frags of zoas for $10 each and they have about 40 polyps, i got 2 frags of yellow polyps for $5 each, and a nice acan. I'm up to 30 corals now in my 90 gallon tank! Thanks for everyone's help.

Glad you had a good time at the swap and made a pretty good haul!

Tank is looking good!! It is amazing how many corals you sqeeze in there! ;)

Tank looks nice!!

And Brandon should really be calling HIMSELF a moron for buying the LED lights so early. The lights in a couple of years will be much better and he'll just be buying more. Brandon is like our own personal tester for all sorts of stuff! Has to have the latest and greatest, which is great since he'll find all the pitfalls and let us know!!! Keep it up Brandon!!! We love you!!

I like in Knoxville, and come to Chattanooga occasionally for my job. I'd love to find some nice zoas or palys. I'm looking for interesting, colorful, or odd things. If you have any, please post up pictures or links, cause I'm not that good with the names of all of them.

Well, I can get you somce ding dangs from hawaii, I also have some firecracker palys but not enough to frag. Kenya tree??? Leather toadstool????I got those if you would like. Are you looking to trade or buy?

Looking to buy, but I already have plenty of kenya trees and leathers. I've got some I could trade to somebody if they're interested in them. Actually, if somebody wants some and has nothing to trade, I'd probably be willing to give some Kenya tree away. I've got one that's gotten big enough it's throwing off sprouts all over the tank. I just pull them and throw them in rubble so they attach to something I can remove easily.

same here. All that I really have that you might be interested in that I can frag for you are the hawiian ding dangs. They are nice palys.

What do you want for them? I'm finding many color variations of them. You got pics of yours?
