Loud pistol shrimp

Mine is down in the basement and I can easily head it on the main floor. I like it because I know he is still alive.

It got a tang?! ;Wideyed What size was the tang?

I have one or two in my tank and I hear them snap all day long. Busy little things. Only seem them maybe once a year. They were hitchhikers in my LR.
It was a 2” yellow tang. It just got too close to it and knocked it out. Same went for the dart fish.
Surprised it got the dart fish, they are really quick.

Has anyone else noticed that their tiger pistol shrimp is really loud. Mine pops a lot and it is very annoying and distracting. It’s not always loud but sometimes it’s super loud. He woke me up snapping three times one night. My tank is in my bedroom, and his popping has even woken up my sister across the hall. Does anyone else have this problem with their pistol shrimp?
Ours is loud but I wouldn’t say excessive. But our tank is in our living room.
he doesn’t act up every night or day even. he’s very random. We may hear him
two or three time a week and then it’s constant five or six times and then he’s quiet
i guess he’s going after food when he does that?
is that where snails and crabs and fish are disappearing
