Hello everyone. Looking for a bit of advice. I'm having a low pH issue for the last few weeks. It's staying around 7.8-7.9, when it was usually around 8-8.1,and I don't know why. I have a Scrubber running to the skimmer air intake and that was working well. The only change I made recently was to swap from using phosex in a bag to using it in a reactor. I've even drilled a hole on the window frame last week to get outside air into the skimmer (still with the Scrubber too) but it seems to make no difference. I'm using red sea black bucket and was going to do my weekly water change today butthe pH on the new water is only 7.4! All other parameters are generally pretty stable. The only issue was phosphate creeping up, which was why I switched to the reactor. Any ideas?

My ph goes down slightly in the summer since I shut the windows for air conditioning. So many things affect the ph, windows open or closed, heat or oven on, pets in the home, number of occupants in the home, tank lights on or off... so many things that its so hard to maintain at a certain level. I gave up testing ph years ago and I don't even think about it anymore.

The only thing that I've been able to find beneficial to higher pH is faster stoney coral growth. This is info I've read, I have no experience with higher pH. My acro tank according to my Milwaukee runs 7.7 - 7.9 but I can get 8.1 - 8.2 when the house is opened up. TBO I only added the monitor out of curiosity not because I intend to chase pH.
Some growth in my reported low pH
