All, thank you for your warm welcome to the site and your answers to all my previous questions. After all of the gathered info, I decided to do a build post. I will stick mainly to images with a little annotation. I started 2 months ago with nothing. I bought a 50 gallon Lowboy system that is 10x24x48 based on a zoomed review online. Next I picked up a blue Trigger Systems 36 sump, Red Sea skimmer, 4x 8x8 marine pure blocks, fuge light, various 2 return pump, fuge cube overflow, a bunch of pvc and a table rated for 3000 lbs from the Home Depot. I drilled my tank and built the tank stand, followed by building a sump stand out of a replacement Husky table top and some leveling casters (Home Depot). I then plumped the tank which took nearly 8 hours to get perfect. I leak tested for 2 days then moved everything to my office on the 2nd floor of my home. I scaped the tank with reef saver rock and I can say that I absolutely hate that stuff, it is way too heave and I broke some pieces in half to get smaller pieces and they were moist and mushy inside. After making my scape, I added 4 bags of sand and some Dr. Tims. 2 days later I added my Maroon Clown (Bully) and 3 days later I added my white spot puffer (Mr. T). I still have 0 ammonia. I added a second round of Dr. Tim’s to stay on the safe side of things. I plan on buying some AI primes in the future and start adding corals, I plan on staying with lps and softies. Thanks for checking out the build, I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. I hope you enjoy the images, they are a little randomly ordered.
