Hello All,

My tank pretty much crashed over the summer, algae covered and my nitrates read over 90. After a lot of Maintence and 2 months of water changes I was able to get my nitrates down to .4 PPM and overall the tank looks much better. I’m still having an algae problem and after testing my phosphates they are still very high. Obviously my water changes did not lower phosphate. Any advice on how I should tackle this phosphate problem and what the ideal number should be?
Thanks!

Honestly, this sounds crazy but if your corals are still getting light, I would cut back on feeding schedules and let the algae grow out a bit. Once the phosphate problem resolves from the algae or the algae gets too unmanageable, a new toilet brush can catch and remove the hair algae, (I'm assuming it's hair algae) in a jiffy depending on your tank size.
