Hi there -

Our tank is about 6 months old, have a couple torches, frogspawn and some other smaller LPS and we picked up a bubble tip anemone.. I know that the LPS like the water to be dirtier with higher nitrates, but the anemone not so much.

Is there a happy balance? Right now my nitrates are about 15ppm , po4 around 0.8 (using GFO to bring it down).

The goal is to keep both LPS and Anemone if possible.

Thanks!

Nems and lps do fine together as far as water quality. My mixed reef ran with NO3 15-20 and PO4 0.2 - 0.3 and thrived

Be carful with the gfo as it can strip PO4 quickly. Also on a new tank I've had PO4 start off high and gradually come down on its own. I've found nems to do better in older tanks. Mine split a lot when the tank was young but stopped splitting and grew larger once the tank matured. I went from 3 to almost 50 at one point.
