LPS Flow Concerns

I have attached 2 videos and I am not totally sure if this is too much flow for my new torch and my new trumpet coral. I have a 5’ wide tank with MP40s on both ends and they are both already turned down relatively low. Also, what flow patterns are people’s go-to for MP40s?

To me torch is getting a little blasted. They can take a lot of flow just make sure it’s more random. Where do you have wave makers positioned. Have them diagonal 1 high 1 lower. Random can work the best. Try to find spots for both that get moderate random flow but indirect

The torch looks a little fast for an aquarium but they can get hammered in the wild like that but maybe not 24/7. If the trumpet had too much flow and that inflated I’d expect to see it’s skeleton impression through it’s flesh; so I think that one’s fine?

Ultimately if they’re happy and doing okay..

Here is my tank when it was setup and I marked with red where those 2 corals are sitting. I have since moved some of those loose rocks down into the sump. Both MP40s are at about 35% power. Maybe I’ll change 1 to Gyre and 1 to random or something?

IMO the candy cane is fine, the torch has too much one way flow. The polyps should wave side to side randomly.

I did that to a hellfire torch, it got BJD after scratching itself. Not super helpful just venting and emphasizing urgency.

If they’re getting too much flow on one side of the tank try move them in the middle of tank. That’s normal where the 2 flows meet and it’s creates a really nice random motion. I would try that.

I did that at first but it seemed one way but I will try different spots in the middle, I think your right. I suppose I should also try different modes on the MP40 as well.
