Question for everyone here! What are corals you believe should not have names attached due to how different they can look from tank to tank? I believe acans or micromusa lordhowensis is the prime one!
acans def have a huge tendency to shift colors! Especially the rainbows. I do think the aquacultured ones should have a name as it gives you a "goal" on how they should look. like mardis gras and solar flare for example. but too often vendors chop up wild acans and put a name on them and they shift colors after they are settled. I have thrown away so much money buying "rainbow acan" colonies to culture and they almost always turn red

GIVEAWAY TIME!

Critique my sales. Let me know what you like or dislike, or what you would change. Whether it be drop times, the amount of corals dropped in each session, variety of corals etc.

Winner will receive a $25 gift card. Entries end at 6:45pm est.
I like that there are multiples of the same coral. I don't know if there's a "right" number of duplicates, but I hate when sales will only have 1 or 2 of a coral. I think you usually have a pretty good variety of beginner to high end corals. I think the pace of the sales are nice and enjoy that is not as stressful as some others can be. LRO sales are my favorite to shop because I know what I'm getting, the corals are always healthy, and it doesn't feel like a dog fight.

Most of mine are turning red right now. I thought I was doing something wrong.

I was very happy with how my order from the Christmas sale came in last week. Even though they came in under 60°F (not your fault, you can't put in huge heat packs when you're shipping them from 80°F to 20°F) everything has been doing great. The next day 95% of everything was open and looking beautiful.

The only negative I had isn't anything huge.

I always worry about shipping this time of year. I try to pack the boxes as late as possible without missing the next day air drop off time. Florida is always so hot but most states are freezing right now! you dont wanna cook the coral but gotta make sure they are kept warm too, def a little tough, and very stressful lol

I was going to say this in private, but I’m always good with shipping when we think the corals have the best chance. So I’m totally flexible with that.
