Now that I've over thought this project to death, it's finally time to bring it to life! This will be our second tank and I'm forever grateful for the crew at @Living Reef Orlando for answering my 5 million questions. You guys have the patience of a Saint. Now let's get down to business:

Innovative Marine 25 Lagoon

~25lbs dry rock
30lbs reef sand (will probably scale back)
Topic Marin Classic Sea Salt

Equipment:

A3 Apex Controller System
Ecotech XR15 blue gen 6
Ecotech MP10
Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155
Auqashield 10w UV Sterilizer
Helio 100w Heater

Hoping to get this up and going this week! Still trying to nail down a stock list. Unpopular opinion: I'm avoiding clowns! We had a nasty brook situation & I'm pretty sure were scarred for life.

Fish under consideration:

Pink streaked wrasse
Possum wrasse
Ruby red dragonet
Court jester goby
Tailspot blenny

What are your favorite nano inhabitants??

Made some progress over the weekend. Got the main structure for the scape put together. There will also be a few detached pieces:

My husband put together this controller board made from PVC board and the ATO reservoir arrived!

You should swap the heater outlet with the Mighty Jet outlet. Outlets 4 and 8 are rated for higher load, like heaters and chillers.

I've always heard those can be a bit aggressive. Does yours play nice?
Very nice. I never heard that, they are always thrown in as an alternative to an aggressive similar type fish.

I'll also be setting up a 25 Lagoon in the next couple of weeks! I'm so excited and can't wait to start my build thread! I just finished finalizing my aquascape this past week. Will definitely be following!

Happy Sunday! It's been a busy week, including with the build! We got water, sand (why didn't anyone tell me they discontinued the ramen packets?! :grinning-face-with-sweat: ), and...NITRATES! Just like our last tank, we used Fritz Turbo Start.

It's a little easier to be patient with this build. Since its small, there's not as much room to play...especially since I'm one of those people who buys something for the long haul.

While avoiding all the adult responsibilities, I drove over to @WWC for a distraction. No intention of buying a SINGLE thing. Imagine my surprise when I see THE fish poking out from behind a rock.

THE PINK STREAKED WRASSE! I don't like ordering online and finding this guy in store hasn't been easy. I HAD to get him. And I had a great conversation with Meara. She's an amazing employee and we talked about several different topics and she gave me some great tips. This isn't my typical experience here and she really made my day.

Anywho. Meet Beaker.

He mostly hides, but I love watching him explore. We're of course keeping an eye on ammonia and bought some prime to be safe.

So now what? 1. Still need to figure out placement for the MP10...suggestions? And 2. What would you do next? How many days between fish would you wait?

Hey there!

While I haven't decided on powerhead location, I did get Beaker a friend. Meet Hecuba.

I initially had the Court Jester Goby on my list, but couldn't get the Hector's Goby out of my mind after seeing them a few weeks back. Beaker has been much more active since getting him a tank mate.

Question on the Tunze Osmolator 3155. Y'all. It's LOUD. Any suggestions on making it quieter? Also, do you schedule your run times for your ATO? Or do you just let it run as needed? We go with option 2 for our main display, but I may have a heart attack if this goes off in the middle of the night.

Also. Seriously. Powerhead placement suggestions would be great!

Before I even got this tank, I KNEW I needed a lid from @Kraken Reef . Look what showed up this week!

Looks so much cleaner than the standard lid, AND the spacing in the mesh is much tighter...better for my little guys!
Looks really slick. I think I might buy a lid from them too, if they have a size I can use. :)
