Hello,

My Lubbock fairy wrasse passed this morning and I have no idea why. 36G Bowfront Tank is almost 4 months old and she had been in for 8 weeks after a 2 week quarantine.

Parameters have been stable:
pH 8.2, nitrate 10, ammonia 0, alk 9.5, salinity 1.025 sg, temp 77F.

For the past 2 weeks the wrasse had been acting strange after I did some routine cleaning of the HOB filter and rockwork. Normally, the fish was out and about swimming everywhere. After 2 weeks ago she began hiding and resting along the edge of the glass and would come out to eat, swim around for an hour and then go back to laying on the sand. I’ve seen some mild aggression between a firefish, gold head sleeper goby, and the wrasse but it was very brief and nobody seemed to be hurt. Since she’s been acting strange I’ve been keeping a close eye on her and did not notice any unusual feces, ich, velvet or flukes. All the other tank mates seem to be doing fine. I feed a mixture of brine, marine feast, and fish eggs twice a day. Monthly 20% water changes.
